DIY Artist Drying Rack

For years, my paintings have been scattered around my dining room waiting to dry so they could be shipped.  Then, back in March, we purchased a new dining set (a post on that later). The thought of wet paint touching this new dining table made me have nightmares.  I really needed a drying rack for my paintings and so the search began...I found this one for a little over $200:

and this one:
for a $133.99

I really couldn't afford to put that much money into one, so this is what I came up with:

I purchased 1 inch wooden blocks and 16x20 masonite boards.
I simply glued the blocks to each corner, building from the bottom.  I only did three layers, but I am planning to add to it at a later time.
It's small enough to fit on the top of my painting table, and just these three layers hold a lot of paintings and it's working great for my needs.

Hope you like it too!

Great idea - I've been trying to come up with a good drying rack idea for fabric I print - I currently have a makeshift clothesline across my craft room. This is definitely a better idea!
